GPS - Unboxing

The silence of space is deafening compared to constant noise of earth. Satellite after satellite is launched into the atmosphere, marvels of the modern age that now seem so commonplace. GPS is the third of three games in a set produced by Board Game Tables. The visuals of this game were really appealing to me, and a big factor for me when I decided to invest in this Kickstarter… Well, and the goats…

GPS, Sequoia, Mountain Goats, and the Expansion Pack for all three games.

Much like Mountain Goats and GPS is a quick game that you can pick up and play, filling that gap at the end of the evening of between longer games. It comes in a small compact box with clear components and a very simple set of instructions: spin the spinner and put your satellites where the rocket points!

The different pieces push out effortlessly, and, as each set of satellites are both different colours and different shapes, it’s simple to separate out the different pieces. As each satellite set has a distinct shape, some more than others, this makes the game more accessible to those who can’t differentiate between colours as easily. Also provided with the tokens are enough bags to separate each players’ satellites into a bag of their own.

The various satellites separated and packed away.

GPS takes up a relatively small amount of space, making it great for those with smaller tables, and has a straightforward set up. As previously mentioned, I love the aesthetics of the game, and the theme has been well portrayed throughout the game. My only real gripe is the small size of the central board may prove to be a problem, as I feel like the edge of the board could get quite crowded with more players, but I guess I’ll wait and find out!
